Special Purpose Statements

The Industry Skills Statement support you in evidencing your overseas qualifications for those in the construction, plumbing, electrical or land-based sector.

These services are for you if you are applying for either:

If you are applying for a card scheme not listed above, you may not need these services and we recommend that you check the requirements of the organisation you are applying with.

If you work in construction and need to evidence the level of your qualification but you are not applying for one of the above schemes/card providers, we recommend the Statement of Comparability service provided by UK ENIC.

*ECS card is issued by the Joint Industry Board (JIB) for the electrical contracting industry in England Wales and Northern Ireland and the Scottish Joint Industry Board (SJIB) for the electrical contracting industry in Scotland.

For those applying for a blue, gold or black CSCS card, JIB-PMES card, an ECS card, SKILLcard or LISS card.

The Industry Skills Statement with Skills Mapping is suitable for you if:

  • You have spent time working on a construction site as part of your qualification.
  • Your qualification is relative to an occupation within the blue, gold or black CSCS card, JIB-PMES card, an ECS card, SKILLcard or LISS card.

If your qualification meets these requirements, then you may require our service as part of your application to one of the mentioned card schemes.

Our Sectoral Team will review the documents you submit and determine where it is possible to complete the application. When completed you will receive:

  • A mapping report listing all requirements that have/have not been met based on the presented qualification.
  • A Primary Source Verification* (PSV) report

Please note that this service is only able to review one qualification, however, we may request further documents of previous awards to assist with understanding the presented qualification.

The Industry Skills Statement with Skills Mapping is completed over two stages. Stage 1 will review whether the qualification is suitable for the service and Stage 2 is where our Team will map the qualification against the occupation standards in the UK for the mentioned field. This is also where the verification requests will be submitted to the institution where you have completed your qualification.

Applications for the Industry Skills Statement with Skills Mapping are submitted online through our website.

At the bottom of this page, you will see an Apply Now button, this will allow you to register for an online portal to begin your application process with Ecctis.

Once you have successfully registered your account and followed the verification link emailed to you, select the “Start your Application” button in your portal.

This will take you through the application process which includes adding your qualification as an entry, uploading photographs of the supporting documents, providing your contact information, and submitting payment.

Please note that an application is not submitted until after the payment has been made on your portal.

All documents given must be clear colour photographs. We may request further images if we are not able to clearly see all four corners of the page.

The initial documentation required to begin our assessment are:

  • Final certificate in the original language, this would usually be given to you once the qualification is completed.
  • Official transcript in the original language, showing all subjects and grades achieved throughout your studies.
  • Certified translations of your documents if they are not originally issued in English by the institution.
  • Evidence of name change, including legal identification in your current legal name (such as a passport or driving licence) This is only required if the name used during your studies is not the same as your current legal name.
  • Stage 1 form that has been completed by the institution where you have completed the qualification.

Once you have successfully completed Stage 1 of this service, we will then require the following additional documents:

  • Letter of Authorisation signed by you the qualification holder.
  • Passport/Photo ID
  • Course content – this is a detailed breakdown of the modules studied within your course and will be more comprehensive than a transcript.

Please note that all mentioned documents are necessary to begin the application process, however, our team may ask for further supporting documents to assist with our assessment.

Stage 1: £50.00 + VAT* and takes up to 15 working days to complete from the date that we have received all necessary documentation and payment.

Stage 2: £345.00 + VAT* and delivery, this service takes up to 30 working days to complete from the date that we have received all necessary documentation and payment.

All timeframes mentioned include our review process, an update will be given within the relevant timeframe from when any additional documentation is provided. Please allow the full timeframe for our team to provide an update through the “Order Status” area of the User Portal.

Due to the process of this service, we are not able to offer a faster timeframe.

If further documents are required throughout the application process, the first date of your application will be the date we have most recently received documents.

For those applying for a White, Academically Qualified Person CSCS card, ECS card, SKILLcard or LISS card.

The Industry Skills Statement for Academically Qualified Persons is suitable for you if you hold a construction related qualification that is comparable to Higher National Certificate, Higher National Diploma, Bachelor, Master’s or doctoral degree level.

If you have a qualification that meets these requirements, then you may require our service as part of your application to one of the mentioned card schemes.

Our Sectoral Team will review the documents you submit and determine where it is possible to complete the application. When completed you will receive:

  • A Statement of Comparability to advise the comparable level of your qualification.
  • A Primary Source Verification* (PSV) report

Please note that this service is only able to verify one qualification, however, we would be able to include assessment of other qualifications. If you are providing multiple qualifications that meet the requirements, we would need confirmation of which qualification you would like verified.

This service costs £184.50+ VAT* and your chosen delivery option. The timeframe to complete your order is 30 working days from when we have received all necessary documentation for each submitted qualification and full payment.

All timeframes mentioned include our review process, an update will be given within 30 working days from when any additional documentation is provided. Please allow the full 30 working days for our team to provide an update through the “Order Status” area of the User Portal.
