This training session is designed to provide detailed information on the changing format of the education systems of countries like Bulgaria, Poland, Romania, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania in the last 10 years.
The session provides detailed background information on the education systems as well as a number of case studies looking at the documentation presented and the recognition of awards from these countries.
It will also discuss the format of changes in these countries in the context of reforms to the European Higher Education Area.
Recommended for university and college staff, professional bodies, recruiters, work permit and visa agencies, careers, guidance, refugee and asylum seekers' advisers.
The key objectives of the training are to:
- Gain an appreciation of the political and cultural context of education in these new EU member states
- Achieve an understanding of the structure of the education systems of these new EU member states, including secondary, vocational/occupational and higher education and how this compares with the UK's education system
- Develop the ability to identify and classify qualifications available at different levels of these education systems
