This project sought to extend the existing Historical HEI database, which provided detailed information on recognised institutions in 25 European countries, by researching the HEIs of a further 16 countries in Europe.

As had been highlighted for the initial European HEI Data Record Project, having a reliable resource for credential evaluators on the historical names of recognised institutions along with details of accreditation changes and dates would facilitate their work in assessing an individual’s qualifications and thereby promote recognition and mobility for European HEI graduates both in the region and globally.
