Purpose of role:
Reporting to the Head of HR, the HRA will work in all aspects of the employee lifecycle including employee relations, training needs analysis, recruitment, accurate HR data and reporting as well as acting as system(s) super user. Working closely with key internal stakeholders, coaching and mentoring managers across a wide range of people issues, including performance management, succession planning, training requirements, team effectiveness activities, leadership behaviours, culture and values etc. The successful role holder will support with all things HR and have an eye for detail and thrive in keeping processes running efficiently.
Key responsibilities:
- Supporting with and working alongside the Senior HR Advisor on ER matters such as investigations, grievances, disciplinaries, performance management, absence management, flexible working requests, and family leave.
- Ownership for Training Needs Analysis processes across the business and identifying L&D preferred suppliers, identifying priority requirements across the business and supporting the HoHR in allocating budget accordingly.
- Enhance the HR communication and information provisions to improve employee engagement initiatives, such as the HR intranet, regular company communications and external facing website.
- Act as the initial point of contact for all HR operations matters, providing high quality, consistent first-line HR advice, coaching and guidance relating to policy, procedure and best practice at all levels.
- Driving forward continuous improvement, updating policies and procedures as well as undertaking cyclical HR activities such as reward and performance reviews
- Take accountability for onboarding and induction activities and ensuring a focus on engagement, time to productivity, and positive probation experience and management.
- Support the enhancement of our HR systems efficiencies and data accuracy for dependent systems and departments, to enable a provision of key metrics to the HR Director and Executive Committee and Dashboard reporting,
- Proactive HR support: Identifying potential HR/process risks, suggesting improvements to HR practices. Able to identify and implement business focused solutions.
- Supporting the HR Team in our transformative people initiatives, driving impactful projects such as diversity and inclusion, employee wellbeing, and policy evolution. Partner across teams to foster meaningful change, championing long-term organisational growth and an exceptional workplace culture.
- Provide sound HR advice to employees in line with our policies and procedures
Education and qualifications:
Strong track record in a generalist HR role covering at least two of the designated areas detailed above
- Achieved or working towards CIPD Level 5 or above is strong desirable
- Good knowledge in employment law
- The ability to build solid relationships, with confident and articulate communication skills at all levels in a business organisation
- Excellent coaching and influencing skills, being able to articulate best practice HR successfully
- Previous HR experience dealing with a broad range of HR queries.
- Knowledge and experience using HR Systems
- Ability to deal with difficult and sensitive situations in a diplomatic manner using professional judgement
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to apply knowledge, creativity, whilst ensuring adherence to HR policies and procedures
- A team player, whilst also being able to work independently
- Strong communication skills and able to work quickly on different tasks
- Proactive and willing to make suggestions for solutions.
- High degree of accuracy
- Proficient in Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and ability to produce meaningful reporting data
